The Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Centre operated by AVM Medical, s.r.o. is seeking cooperation with all health insurance companies in Slovakia to modify contractual relationships so that HBOT will be fully reimbursed for the accepted medical indications. Of course, reimbursement is possible only if your disease is on the list of the accepted medical indications of your health insurance company. The public will be informed about the latest developments in negotiations with the Slovak insurance companies.
Meanwhile, the possibility of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for indicated conditions (on the recommendation of a physician) exists only in case of direct payment. The fee charged for one exposure is 70 EUR, normally 10 exposures are advised to obtain the desired effect of the therapy. Consequently, one block (10 exposures) costs 700 EUR. The same amount will also be charged for the so-called cosmetic HBOT indications.
In addition, each patient needs his or her own breathing mask, a hose to connect to the oxygen supply and special cotton clothing (a T-shirt, a pair of trousers and socks). Patients receive their sets, which become their property, before HBOT (32 EUR). Of course, the sets can also be used for any further oxygen therapies / blocks if needed.
